Samsung galaxy aa6s to be the first smartphone to be produced by Xiaomi’s manufacture Wintech, a new leak claims. Read on to find out what is going on.

It is not news that Samsung has been shoved aside by the global underdog and Chinese champion Xiaomi in terms of smartphone manufacturing, but it makes headlines that Samsung will let Xiaomi’s manufacturer build its next smartphone. In today’s strange but not entirely surprising news is the Samsung Galaxy A6s, a smartphone to be launched by Samsung; but with a twist. It seems that the handset will be manufactured by Wintech after all, the same firm that makes the hardware for Xiaomi phones.

Though Samsung has not confirmed about it till now. Only a little hint was given earlier. A new tip suggests that Galaxy A6s is not being manufactured by any Samsung Chinese factory.

Xiaomi Power

Just like in India, Samsung is losing out a lot of its market share to Xiaomi in China too. While there are several other Chinese brands that are sweating it out, Xiaomi has been dishing out phone after phone at outrageously low prices, and Samsung seems to have failed to keep up, and finally surrendered.

A Chinese tipster tweeted that the Samsung Galaxy A6s is not being manufactured in Samsung’s Huizhou and Tianjin city factories and will be the first smartphone by Samsung to be made by the manufacturer of Xiaomi phones. However all of these is limited to the Chinese market, we don’t know about the global variant.

Who is or What is Wintech?

Wintech is the manufacturer of Xiaomi in China. Wintech is Samsung’s first ODM smartphone manufacturer. ODM refers to a type of manufacturer that designs and makes products for other firms, based on the requirements specified by the firms. Reports have it that company execs of Samsung’s mobile business led by Executive Vice President Roh Tae-moon visited China’s Wintech to discuss the possibility of manufacturing Samsung phones at Wintech’s factory.

Reports also say that Samsung will shut down its two factories in China due loss of its market share in China. Samsung is considering the ODM model for some of its phones.

Samsung Galaxy A6s leaked specifications

Samsung Galaxy 6s have revealed its specs in TENAA. TENAA is Chinese certification authority’s website. The phone will run on a 2.2 GHz CPU which could be the Samsung-owned Exynos 7885 Octa chipset, seen in the Galaxy A8 (2018) or a Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset, as seen in the Galaxy A7 (2018). RAM is listed as 6 GB, while storage is either 64 GB or 128 GB (micro SD slot is present). There is a vertical dual camera setup on the back with two 12 MP sensors, while the selfie snapper is 5 MP.

The screen is 5.99 with an LCD panel, which is a surprise on its own, but the resolution is 2160 x 1080 which has 18:9 ratio, meaning Samsung might totally skip the Infinity Display branding on the Galaxy 6s. Fingerprint sensor will be in the back. Quick charging is not yet confirmed With a 156.1 x 76.4 x 8.4 mm body, arriving in Black, Blue, Red, and Pink the Samsung Galaxy A6s should go official soon.
