We’ve been using Zenfone Max Pro M1 as our daily driver for quite a while now and honestly, we loved it. It has a few minor flaws but works smooth as butter. But, now that we are a week away from the launch of Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2,
Let’s have a look at what we know about the device.
The unrivalled champion of mid-range is ready to begin its dominance with the most durable screen in the segment – Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The Zenfone Max Pro M2 launches on 11th December, exclusively on @Flipkart. Stay tuned for more. @corninggorilla #UnbeatablePerformer2dot0 pic.twitter.com/Kd2vHKN22B

Well, from the above tweet, We’ve understood a couple of changes in the device.
The display has been upgraded from a 6′ notch free display to a notch based display. The Notch looks small and houses the front camera and the sensors. The Display is said to be protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 6. Honestly, it’s great that the Zenfone Max Pro M2 will sport a Gorilla Glass as its absence was one of the major drawbacks of the Zenfone Max Pro M1.
The 2.5 Curved Glass looks great and premium but having a Gorilla glass protecting your phone will give you or me at least, a satisfaction that when I drop it, I’ll be only greeted by minor scratches.
The Zenfone Max Pro M2 is reported to be equipped with not one or two but three rear cameras, just like the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Now, don’t expect these Cameras to match the flagship level Huwaei Mate 20 Pro. But, they might just do fine, if the reported Sony IMS Exmor 486 (12 MP) will serve as the primary rear camera.
The Camera on the Zenfone Max Pro M1 is awesome but the Camera interface is awful!
I hated the stock camera interface and ended-up using Google Camera on it to get much better shots.
I hope that the Zenfone Max Pro M2 will bring a new and better camera interface.
The Zenfone Max Pro M2 is reported to sport a SnapDragon 660 SOC and the GPU duties will be handled by Adreno 512. The SnapDragon 636 on the Zenfone Max Pro M1 is great. It handles everything fine but the upgrade from 630 to 660 has its own advantages.
It will still sport the massive 5000 Mah battery. It’s supposed to be coming in two RAM & Storage variants.
Asus has given up on the 3GB Ram Variant and the default variant is the 4GB Ram variant. It is rumored that Asus will not omit the 2 Sim + Dedicated MicroSD solution which honestly matters a lot to us. We believe that SD Cards can be used as a necessary backup to store all the files from your device, just in case, the device gets any problem.
Any other expected improvements?
Well, We expect that Asus will ditch their stock camera app or at-least modernize it according to the user’s need and secondly, We expect the phone will ship with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.
The device is said to be launched on December 11th and is gonna be a Flipkart exclusive. So, let’s wait and see about what Asus has to offer.
We are pretty much excited about the new Zenfone Max Pro M2, Are you?
